A man and a woman have died after their car crashed into a lake in Plymouth, police said.
The car went into Hooe Lake in Turnchapel just before 1.55pm, ending up on its roof.
Police and members of the public went into the lake and tried to save the people inside the car, managing to pull the man from the vehicle.
He was given CPR and taken to hospital but police later confirmed he had died.
The woman was taken from the vehicle by firefighters but she also died.
Police gave no further details but appealed for witnesses to the incident.
