Oh dear! Suspects confess: We spent #20m hacking into JAMB website
Nigeria - Some suspects who were allegedly caught while perpetrating certain irregularities in the ongoing registration for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations have reportedly confessed to spending over N20m to construct a radio platform with which they hacked into JAMB’s registration portal.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had arrested no less than five individuals who had deployed fake biometric capturing machines to register applicants, Punch reports.
Oh gosh! Nine people killed in Brazilian land dispute massacre
Brazilian police collected the bodies Saturday of nine people killed by masked attackers in a remote area after what a rights group called a massacre by big landowners to expel small farmers.
A police spokeswoman for Mato Grosso state said the toll in the killings in western Brazil had risen from five to nine and that all victims were men. Earlier reports suggested that children had also been killed.

Paris station panic as man arrested with knife
France - A man carrying a knife was arrested on Saturday at Paris’s Gare du Nord station, causing brief panic days after the jihadist killing of a policeman, police sources said amid pre-election jitters.
“An individual carrying a knife came into the station, was pointed out to a police patrol which immediately arrested him,” one of the sources said.
Police kill 2 notorious kidnappers in Niger
Nigeria - The Niger Police Command’s Special Anti-Cattle Rustling Team on Friday killed two notorious kidnappers that had been terrorising the people of Suleja, Tafa, Paiko and Gurara local government areas of the state.
DSP Bala Elkana,the command Public Relations Officer, disclosed this in a statement in Minna.
He said that the squad raided a cattle rustlers’ hideout at Nkuchi, Paiko Local Government Area .

Nigeria - The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has declared that the “tyrannical government” of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, must be stopped.
Speaking through the spokesperson of IPOB, Emma Powerful, the incarcerated agitator on Friday said there is no more space for tyranny and repressive government in Nigeria and Africa.
He insisted that the alleged repressive and tyrannical government in Nigeria will fissile out in no distant time.
