Six injured in Italy drive-by shooting targeting foreigners
A shaven-headed far-right supporter wounded six foreigners Saturday in a brazen drive-by shooting in central Italy and was later arrested, police and local officials said.
After the morning assault in the town of Macerata, the suspect got out of his car, made a fascist salute with a tricolour Italian flag draped over his shoulders and shouted “Viva Italia”, or “Long Live Italy”, witnesses said.

Several dead after army helicopters collide in France
Five people were killed Friday after two army helicopters crashed near the southern French resort town of Saint-Tropez, police said.
“The helicopters collided. There were three crew in one and two in the other.

Fidel Castro’s eldest son, ‘Fidelito’ commits suicide
Fidel Castro’s eldest son Fidel Ángel Castro Díaz-Balart, also known as ‘Fidelito’ is dead.
The 68-year-old nuclear physicist was the oldest son of former Cuban President Fidel Castro. He died on Thursday, Cuban state media reported.

Trump, FBI on collision course as secret memo’s release looms
Washington braced Thursday for the release of an explosive memo alleging abuse of power in the FBI’s probe of Donald Trump’s campaign, which has magnified tensions between the White House and the government’s premier law enforcement body.
A White House official told AFP that Trump has read the memo, and Fox News and other media reported Wednesday he has decided to allow the release of the highly classified document before the weekend.
Fani-Kayode has heart-related ailment, lawyer tells court
Nigeria - The trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, for an alleged fraud of N4.9bn was stalled on Wednesday due to his absence from the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Counsel for the ex-minister, Mr. Norrison Quakers (SAN), told the court that his client was unable to make it to court as he was suffering from a heart-related ailment.

Nigeria - A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, says his recent open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari was not borne out malice or ‘bad belle’ but out of his deep concern for the situation in the country.
He said this on Thursday at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oke Ilewo area of Abeokuta, shortly after the Coalition for Nigeria Movement was inaugurated in Ogun State, and he was registered as a member of the movement, after formally filling the registration form.

Fulani herdsmen attack NNPC officials, kill one in Benue
Nigeria - Armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have attacked and killed an official of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC at Tse Torkula, Benue State.
The deceased was working on the petroleum pipeline with his colleagues in the area.

Nigeria - A few days after Apostle Johnson Suleman released a video of Miss Stephanie Otobo apologising to him and saying she was hired by unnamed politicians to unhinge the preacher with a sex scandal, a newly released video has surfaced to show the confession was scripted by Apostle Suleman and his handlers.
The almost nine-minute video was recorded on June 21, 2017, by Canada-based Worship Media. Introducing Miss Otobo in the video were two people Chidi, and Erica.

Nigeria - A retired military officer identified as Major Afisatu Ajuya has been killed and her body set ablaze in Edo.
It was gathered that Major Ajuya was set ablaze by her security guard alongside eight other persons.

Nigeria - The Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Biodun Olujimi, PDP, Ekiti South, Monday debunked reports that she ordered her security aide to slap a staff of the National Assembly. The senator also denied being slapped by anybody.
There were reports that drama ensued at the new wing of the Senate complex in Abuja after a National Assembly official physically assaulted Senator Olujimi, just as it was reported that she directed her aide to “slap” the legislative official.
