Femi Adesina declares - God shamed enemies (over Buhari rumours)




Nigeria - Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared that God has put his principal’s enemies to shame by restoring his health.
In an article on Saturday titled Buhari’s health: Gloating is of no value, Adesina recalled the events that surrounded the health saga of the President.

Nigeria - A copy of Senator Dino Melaye’s alleged statement of degree result in geography has surfaced online.
The statement of result, dated February 3, 2000; was signed by B.B. Mshelthlila and issued by the academic unit within the Office of the Registrar of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
The alleged statement of result reads: “This is to certify that Daniel Jonah Melaye having completed an approved course of study and passed the prescribed examinations as, under the authority of the Senate been awarded the Bachelor of Arts (Geography) with Third Class honours.”

Nigeria - The Police said in Makurdi on Friday that Tse-Achia village near Kasar in the outskirts of Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue, has been burnt.
This is coming few days after Zaki Biam Yam Market was razed by hoodlums leading to the death of 17 people and 11 injured.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, ASP Moses Yanmu, said the arsonists carried out the attack in the early hours of Friday.

A group of 11 people have been detained after stripping naked, slaughtering a sheep and chaining themselves together at the entrance to Auschwitz.
The men and women, who have not been identified, also draped a white banner with the word "love" in red lettering over the Nazi death camp's infamous Arbeit macht frei gate, according to local media.

Laptop ban hits Dubai for 1.1m weekend travellers



Dubai International Airport and its flag carrier Emirates began implementing a ban on laptops and tablets on direct flights to the US Saturday, on one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
Around 1.1 million people are expected to pass through the world’s busiest international airport as the city marks UAE spring break, Dubai Airports said.
An estimated 260,000 travellers were expected to pass through each day from Friday through Monday. Dubai International Airport expects 89 million passengers this year.

Nigeria - Sahara Reporters are claiming that they have obtained the WAEC results of Senator Dino Melaye which shows that the embattled senator was a dismal student who had only 3 credits.
The result sheet for the senator, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who represents Kogi West senatorial district, came from a secondary school attended by Mr. Melaye, even though he had kept that aspect of his academic history hidden from the public by scrubbing the school from his profile on the website of the Nigerian Senate.
Mr. Melaye sat for the WAEC exams at the Abdulazeez Attah Memorial College, Okene in Kogi State.

Nigeria - Fresh facts have reportedly emerged as to why Allwell Orji, a 35-year-old medical doctor with the Papa Ajao branch of Mount Sinai Hospital, decided to take his own life by jumping into the lagoon in Lagos last Sunday.

A close associate of the deceased doctor revealed that he (Orji) once confided in him that he was fed up with life and “wanted to end it all.”

Naira consolidates strength against dollar


Nigeria - The Naira on Friday consolidated its position against the dollar at the parallel market, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.


The Nigerian currency on Friday afternoon exchanged between N380 (buying rate) and N390 (selling rate), stronger than N400 recorded on Thursday, while the pound sterling and Euro closed at N490 and N430.

A mystery bag which was allegedly abandoned in a vehicle at the premises of the United States Embassy in Lagos Thursday triggered fear and apprehension among visa seekers, visitors and staff of the embassy.
News of a supposed abandoned bomb soon made the rounds after the bag was discovered by one of the security guards attached to the embassy.

Libyan authorities on Thursday flew home 159 Nigerian migrants stranded after failing to reach Europe, in the second such voluntary repatriation operation this week.
“In coordination with the IOM (International Organization for Migration), we are repatriating 159 Nigerians… including three infants,” Badreddine Ben Hamed, head of Libya’s anti-illegal immigration force, told AFP at Mitiga airport.
