Fire outbreak hits NAFDAC office in Lagos

Nigeria - The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Lagos State was on Saturday gutted by fire.

The office, which is located in Oshodi area of the state, also serves as the major laboratory of the food and drugs regulator.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Donald Trump says Germany owes "vast sums of money" to NATO, just a day after meeting Angela Merkel at the White House.

The president said the US must be paid more for providing defence in a tweet he posted while at his weekend retreat in Florida.

He reiterated his stance that Germany needs to meet its end of the bargain if it is to continue benefiting from the military alliance.

Nigeria - The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has stated that the governor of Kaduna State’s leaked memo criticising President Muhammadu Buhari of being a failure was dubious.

He also explained that the Governor’s secret memo condemning Mr. President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was a manifestation of Nasir El-Rufa’i’s attempt to dust a popular sympathy and carve an image of a ‘competent alternative’ to President Buhari come 2019.

See the leaked and shocking Gov. El Rufai memo, APC plans appropriate response

Nigeria - There are reports that President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the All progressives Congress (APC) is shocked by the leaked memo written by Governor Nasiru El-Rufai lamenting about the governance of Buhari.

A memo written by the Kaduna governor to President Buhari was leaked by Sahara Reporters where El-Rufai complained about some of the issues in Buhari’s administration.

Klopp backs Mourinho's criticism of fixture pile up for Manchester United

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp backed Jose Mourinho over his complaints about Manchester United's fixture pile-up.

Mourinho is furious about a schedule which sees United face Middlesbrough at midday (local time) on Sunday, days after a Europa League win over Rostov.

Klopp's team encountered a similar problem last season and the German said he supported Mourinho, reiterating that more needed to be done to help sides in European competition.
