An airstrike on a hospital in northwestern Syria on Saturday killed 10 people, including children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The hospital, in the town of Meles, is about 15 km from Idlib city in rebel-held Idlib province.

Niger Delta Avengers dare military, say they are not scared of the wareplanes, allege taking of innocent lives

                              

It is understood the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) yesterday said the group was not scared by government’s warplanes and accused the military of killing innocent women and children in Lagos and Ogun States.

The group, in a statement by its spokesman, Brig. Gen. Mudoch Agbinibo ridiculed the military, which it said showed video of how soldiers carried out the bombardment, but failed to show a single militant killed by its ‘fourth-generation’ warplanes.

British Tourists Attacked In Afghanistan

At least seven foreign tourists - including a number of Britons - have been wounded in Afghanistan, after Taliban insurgents attacked a group of holidaymakers.

Twelve travelers were attacked by the militant gunmen as their convoy made its way through Herat province in the west of the country, Afghan government officials said. 

Eight British tourists were among the group, though it is unclear how many of them suffered injuries.
Three Americans and one German tourist are also said to have been traveling in the convoy.

Obama administration denies Iran cash payment was a ransom

US - The Obama administration said on Wednesday that $400 million in cash paid to Iran soon after the release of five Americans detained by Tehran was not ransom as some Republicans have charged.

The five, including Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian, were released on Jan. 16 in exchange for seven Iranians held in the United States for sanctions violations. The prisoner deal coincided with the lifting of international sanctions against Tehran.

Woman killed, five injured in central London knife attack

One woman was killed and five others injured by a man with suspected mental health issues who went on the rampage with a knife in central London, an attack police said could be linked to terrorism.

Armed police were called at 10:33 p.m. (2133 GMT) after a man armed with a knife started to attack people in London's Russell Square, a park near the site of a 2005 suicide bombing.
