Egyptian police kill 16 gunmen in raids targeting militants
Egypt's Interior Ministry said on Saturday police officers had shot dead 16 gunmen in two shootouts, adding that most of those killed were fugitive militants linked to recent attacks on security forces in Northern Sinai.
Egypt faces an Islamist insurgency led by the Islamic State group in the restive Sinai Peninsula, where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed since 2013.

KABOOM!!! INEC to begin Senator Dino Melaye’s recall process on Monday
Nigeria - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday, insisted it would go ahead with the recall process of Senator Dino Melaye, as they have not been served any court ruling or process.
The recall process is expected to begin on Monday, July 10.
Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja had on Thursday, rejected Melaye’s ex-parte motion for a temporary injunction to restrain INEC from proceeding with the recall process.

CAN set to organise prayers for Buhari's quick recovery
Nigeria - The Nasarawa State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has setup a committee to intensify prayers for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari currently on medical vacation in London.
The state’s CAN Chairman, Bishop Joseph Masin made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Thursday.
Fayose reveals how he will become Nigeria's next president
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has boasted that he would become Nigeria’s president in 2019 through divine intervention.
