Three people including two state troopers were shot at a Richmond, Virginia, bus station on Thursday and the suspected gunman has been taken into custody, local media reported.
Three ambulances were on scene, the NBC 12 reported on its website. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that two Virginia state troopers and one female civilian had been transported to an area hospital for treatment and that a suspect was in custody.
Patrick Ware, a Richmond Police Department communications officer, said there was an active shooter at the station but had no further details.
We've been told to stay inside and lock the doors," Michael Bickett, who said he works directly across the street from the loading area from the buses said in a direct Twitter message. "A co-worker was eating lunch in his car when he saw Greyhound Workers and customers rushing out the side door. He figured that was a good time to get back inside."
