The Dutch FA want to bring Louis van Gaal back to the Netherlands national team setup as technical director should he leave Manchester United at the end of the season, according toThe Independent.
KNVB believe Van Gaal will leave Old Trafford this summer and have made him their No.1 target to lead the nation's development through their centre of excellence, which is currently being upgraded.
Following Netherlands' poor showing in Euro 2016 qualification, under Guus Hiddink then current head coach Danny Blind, the country's director of professional football, Bert van Oostveen, has pinpointed Van Gaal.
Van Oostveen believes the Dutch FA will be able to convince the 64-year-old to take the new role should his United tenure come to an end.
