FOOTBALL: LUKAKU OPEN TO WORKING WITH MOURINHO AGAIN

Everton striker Lukaku says he would be open to a reunion with Jose Mourinho amid rumours linking him with a summer move to Manchester United.

The Belgium striker, 22, enjoyed little success during his spell at Stamford Bridge working under Mourinho, with the Portuguese coach sanctioning the £28 million move to Everton in July 2014.
Mourinho has been strongly tipped to take over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford in the close season and Lukaku stated he would be willing to reconcile with his former boss.

"Of course," Lukaku said. "Some people will say that I need to convince him but it's not a question of that. Three years ago I was 20 and I wasn't ready to be immediately effective in a top team.

"Several good seasons, including the current one, have changed the situation. I'll be 23 [in May] and I could leave this summer."

The former Anderlecht striker has enjoyed a prolific campaign, scoring 25 goals in all competitions for the Toffees.
Lukaku has previously voiced his desire to feature in the Champions League and responded to his father Roger's comments regarding a potential transfer to either Bayern Munich or United.

I understand why he said that," he explained. "When I was small, they were two teams that impressed me with their attacking strength.
"Then they're teams that he likes a lot. We'll see what happens. Whatever happens, it's always nice to be linked with such clubs. That's the proof that they're watching me. The rest is my agent's business."

Despite exiting west London in negative circumstances, Lukaku feels he has nothing to prove to Chelsea, should the Blues attempt to lure him back.
"No, absolutely not," he said. "The page has turned on both sides."
