Lionel Messi's impudent pass to set up Luis Suarez from the penalty spot against Celta attracted a mixed reception at the weekend, with some calling the improvised move a lack of respect towards the Galicians.
But it may be a necessary step for Barcelona, whose potency in front of goal seems to vanish when the ball is placed 12 yards from the net.
Suarez became the latest member of the MSN to err from a penalty, as the Uruguayan saw his effort saved by Sporting Gijon's Ivan Cuellar during the second half in Asturias.
It was the sixth league penalty out of 12 missed by Barcelona this season, meaning an underwhelming strike-rate of 50 percent so far in the campaign.
Suarez made instant amends with a cracking strike to put Barca 3-1 up - but we may see more invention from the spot if Luis Enrique's men cannot improve their marksmanship from the spot.
