Soldiers on Wednesday killed four Boko Haram terrorists during a 15-minute gun duel in Jororo and Jombaeji  villages in Giedam LGA  of Yobe State.

This is even as troops of the 223 Battalion, 1 Division in Zamfara State gunned down seven livestock  rustlers, recovering  arms and ammunition in Zamfara State.

The Yobe operation followed reported  activities of remnants of Boko Haram terrorists around Jororo and  Tombaeji villages.
A patrol team of Operation LAFIYA Dole, according to Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, came into contact with terrorists around Gajire village during which there was a  firefight  that lasted for about 15 minutes.

The troops overpowered them, killing four and captured  one.
The soldiers also recovered two General Purpose Machine Guns (GMPG), two AK-47 rifles and 144 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition from the terrorists. In addition, they also recovered 2 KASEA branded motorcycles.

In Zamfara State, the military has continued to raid and clear suspected livestock rustlers and armed bandits camps.
The troops during a raid on suspected armed bandits camp at Dumburum forest, Zurmi Local Government, killed seven cattle rustlers and recovered large quantity of ammunition and a pair of military camouflage uniform from them.
Similarly, the troops also cleared suspected armed bandits’ camp at Bagega general area in Anka Local Government Area.

Although the bandits escaped, an abandoned motorcycle was recovered and the camp was destroyed.
“The troops also proceeded and cleared livestock rustlers and armed bandits camps located at Gando forest, near Baruba village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the state.
“The troops killed eight armed bandits during an exchange of gunfire.  The soldiers have also mobilized to Kalgo village in Maru Local Government Area in pursuit of armed bandits that attacked the village,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Commader of the 37 Base Services Group, Nigerian Air Force, (NAF) Yola, Adamawa State, Air Commodore Haruna Umar Mohammed,  has paraded six men for allegedly stealing and selling rifles and ammunition belonging to the force.

This was disclosed to newsmen in Yola. One of the rifles was reportedly missing while in the custody of one airman on duty on November, 11  2015 in Yola. The rifle was later found in the custody of one Mr Dauda when he was apprehended by Nigerian Army personel at Hayin-Gada military check point in Yola on September 3, 2016.

The suspect was arrested at 9:45 pm in possession of a Tevor 21 rifle wearing a disbanded Air force camouflage uniform and in possession of a fake NAF Identification Tag. An investigation further revealed that Dauda was in possession of the missing FN Rifle belonging to the Air force and has sold it to one Mr. Elisha leading to the arrest and recovery of the stolen weapon.
