Online mobile photo, video-sharing, and social networking service, Instagram has launched an abusive-comments-blocking tool, termed,“keyword moderation tool” to enable its user moderate comments on their photos.
The Facebook-owned company said the launched tool automatically blocks comments that contain certain keywords.
The tool enables users to either create their own list of words that they consider offensive or inappropriate, or use default words provided by Instagram.
Kevin Systrom, the chief executive and co-founder of Instagram who said that “the beauty of the Instagram community is the diversity of its members,” also revealed that the offending comments will only appear to the commenter and the commenter’s followers, and will be hidden from everyone else.
