Pope Francis has surprised teenagers by turning up unannounced in St Peter's Square to listen to their confessions.
He appeared at the Jubilee for Teens, attended by several thousand 13-16 year olds from all the world.
The event gives them a chance to reflect on the theme "Merciful like the Father".
Francis joined 150 other priests in front of St Peter's Basilica.
Sitting on a chair in the middle of the square, he listened to confessions from 16 randomly-selected boys and girls.
The banner-waving teens were taking part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation before making their way through the Holy Door.
In a Jubilee message earlier this year, the Pope told them: "Don't just prepare your rucksacks and your banners - but your hearts and minds as well."
On Sunday he will conduct an open air Mass for the teenagers in St Peter's Square.
