Reports say that the Enugu State auditor, Ogbobe Stephen, allegedly abducted by Fulani herdsmen along Nsukka- Adani highway has been released.

It was gathered that a ransom of N700,000 was paid at a designated place in Amokwu community, Udi local government area, Enugu state.

The auditor was allegedly kidnapped Saturday last week, by Fulani herdsmen along the Nsukka-Adani road while returning from a town hall meeting at Ukpabi community.

According to reports, Ogbobe Stephen, with five others, ran into a road block mounted by herdsmen around 4pm.

The herdsmen initially demanded for N5m ransom on Sunday, then reduced it to N1.5m the next day, before collecting N700,000 ransom for the release of the auditor.
