An armed man who fired a shot at three police officers and evaded arrest is at large.
Police were called to reports of a man seen in possession of a firearm in Byron Road, Harrow, northwest London, around 12.40am on Thursday.
Officers arrested a man at the scene for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, but no firearm was found.
A short while later a man fired a shot at three officers in a marked police car in nearby Gladstone Way, before fleeing the scene.
The officers were not injured in the shooting.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a grey hooded top and jeans, Met Police said.
Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command have launched a manhunt for the shooter.
The man arrested for alleged drugs offences has been taken to a north London police station.
