NIGERIA - HIGHLIGHT OF 2016 BUDGET ALTERATIONS AND REMOVALS BY THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

*Lagos-Calabar N60 billion coastal railway removed 
*Idu-Kaduna rail line cut by N8.7 billion 
*Polio eradication, essential drugs for HIV/AIDS expunged 
*Expunged the Calabar – Lagos rail line project from the budget details;
*Slashed allocations for the completion of all major road projects across the country;
*Proposed new roads for which studies have not been conducted;
*Cancelled or reduced allocations for diversification projects under Agriculture and Water Resources; 
*Diverted funds for rural health facilities and boreholes for which provisions had been made elsewhere.
*Agric/water resources re-allocated to constituency projects.
