WORLD SPORTS: TENNIS - Serena confident of improvement

World number one Serena Williams feels she can still improve despite dominating the sport in 2015. The American won three out of the four Grand Slams last year and, after taking time off after the US Open, she is now raring to go in 2016.
Williams’ first goal of the campaign will be to successfully defend her crown at this month’s Australian Open in Melbourne.

A victory would inevitably lead to talk of a possible calendar Grand Slam, something that has not been achieved since Steffi Graf completed the set in 1988.

Despite her dominance, the 34-year-old Williams has warned her rivals that there are still areas of her game where she feels she can get even better.

“I definitely feel there is room for improvement,” Williams said. “I think everyone here knows there is room for improvement for me and I can do better. At least I’m on the right track of going up and not back.”
