A middle- aged bricklayer identified as Odion Egbegbe was on Tuesday night killed by suspected cult members in Ose quarters, Ogida, Benin City, Edo State.
Egbegbe’s killing brought to two the number of people killed in the renewed cult war in the city.
The Divisional Police Officer in the area, Mr. Lawrence Adejo, who confirmed the killing, said a barber simply identified as Bright was also killed two weeks ago in the area.
Like Egbegbe, who was dragged out of his apartment, shot and beheaded, Bright was also pulled out of his shop located opposite Ogida police barracks and shot dead.
The DPO said the cult war is between the Eiye and Aye confraternity in the area.
