Coronavirus leaves Club Brugge crowned Belgium League Champions

Belgian football chiefs have canceled the rest of the 2019/20 season and crowned Club Brugge champions of the Jupiler Pro League due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the globe, according to the Daily Mail.



They voted unanimously for cancellation in a conference call on Thursday, and it is expected to be approved by the general assembly on April 15.

12 migrants found alive in refrigerated truck in Belgium - one week on from Essex tragedy

Twelve migrants have been found alive in a refrigerated truck in northern Belgium.

The men, who were originally from Syria and Sudan, were discovered by police in a motorway parking area outside Antwerp.

Elephant trample tourists taking pictures to death in Zambia

Two tourists, a Dutch and a Belgian, were trampled to death by an elephant in Zambia as they got too close to the animal when trying to take pictures, police said on Sunday.

The holidaymakers, whose identities have not been released, were killed on Saturday while on safari at Maramba River Lodge in the tourist town of Livingstone.

All three goals came in a five-minute second-half period, which began with Vertonghen firing Belgium ahead.

Suspected terror again! Man shot dead after attacking soldiers in Brussels



A man was shot dead in central Brussels on Friday evening after he attacked two soldiers, prosecutors said.

“With the identity that we currently have, [the suspect] is a 30-year-old man who is not known for terrorist activities,” a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office said.

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard is likely to miss the beginning of next season as the Premier League champions announced on Monday he is sidelined for three months after undergoing ankle surgery.
The Belgium international fractured his ankle training ahead of the friendly with the Czech Republic and the 2018 World Cup qualifier with Estonia on Friday.

Oh gosh! One killed as passenger train derails near Brussels

One person is dead and 20 are injured after a passenger train derailed close to Brussels.
The train jumped the tracks shortly after departing from the station in Leuven, 12 miles east of the Belgian capital.
Images from the scene show one of the carriages lying on its side, as rescue workers and emergency crew rushed to the scene.

Eight countries have joined an initiative to raise millions of dollars to replace shortfalls caused by President Donald Trump's ban on U.S.-funded groups around the world providing information on abortion, Sweden's deputy prime minister said.
Isabella Lovin told Reuters a conference would be held on March 2 in Brussels to kick-start the funding initiative to help non-governmental organizations whose family planning projects could be affected.

Brussels bombing suspect charged in France over Paris attacks



Mohamed Abrini, the “man in the hat” bombing suspect caught on security cameras during the Brussels airport attack, has been charged in France over the November 2015 jihadist massacres in Paris, his lawyers said Monday.
Belgium handed Abrini over to the French authorities for a day so that he could face charges related to the deaths of 130 people in the French capital.
