Dozens of people including children have been injured following an explosion at a nursery in China.
The explosion happened at 16:50 in local time, just as relatives were collecting their children at the end of the school day.
State media reported that there were seven deaths at the site of the blast, with as many as 59 others injured.
Pictures on social media purport to show injured adults and children on the ground.
Police officials from the Jiangsu province in eastern China have stated that they are investigating the incident.
The victims have now been taken to hospital, according to the local Fengxian county government.
It was not immediately clear whether the explosion was deliberate.

Nursery schools in China have been targeted before in apparent revenge attacks by individuals with grievances towards their neighbours and society.
The blast is the latest tragedy to strike nursery schools in China in recent weeks.
In January, a man armed with a kitchen knife stabbed and wounded 11 children at a nursery school in the southern region of Guangxi Zhuang.
In May, 11 children were killed along with their teacher and driver, when their school bus caught flame inside a tunnel.
Police claimed that the fire was started by the driver who was aggrieved about losing overtime wages.
State media reported that in 2014 a man killed three children and a teacher as wounded several others at a primary school which had refused to enrol his daughter.
