Nigeria - Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu  and the Uchenna Madu-led Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have struck an alliance.

This came, just as Kanu  said the struggle for Biafra requires sincerity, consistency and selflessnes.

He said this in  his Afara Ukwu, Umuahia North country home in Umuahia, Abia State when MASSOB leadership visited to rejoice with him over his freedom.

He commended MASSOB for working in tandem with the principles and cause which IPOB is pursing and pledged continued cooperation and collaboration of the two groups for the good of Biafra.
Kanu said MASSOB needs to be commended for its tenacity and uprightness in the struggle.

The IPOB leader  told his visitors that he was not in the struggle to be seen as the number one but believed in the collective effort and struggle for the emancipation of the people of Biafra.

Reiterating his support for all platforms that are genuinely pursuing the cause of Biafra, he  recalled that all the groups were in MASSOB for the struggle until their former leader derailed. He commended Madu for re-channeling MASSOB to the original cause it was founded

In a jocular mood, the IPOB leader noted that he was lucky not to have stayed as many years in Kuje Prison as Madu, who spent over five years in various prisons in the course of the struggle.
In his remarks, Madu thanked God for granting Kanu freedom and commended him for his “consistency and selflessness in the struggle.”

Madu also lauded Kanu for  the way he pilots the affairs of IPOB and assured him that the synergy between IPOB and MASSOB would continue in the struggle for the emancipation of people of Biafra.

However,he advised Kanu  to remain focused as the leader and not to make the mistake made by Uwazuruike, adding  that “God raised him to lead the struggle after Uwazuruike derailed.

“We will continue to support you with prayers. MASSOB will continue to identify with IPOB for the good of the struggle,” Madu said.
Madu was accompanied to the visit by some members of the executive committee of MASSOB.
