Wayne Rooney has become England's most capped outfield player after his selection in the Three Lions' World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
The Manchester United forward has won his 116th cap, thus surpassing the record set by David Beckham.
Rooney has also won two more caps than Steven Gerrard, and stands ahead of World Cup winner Bobby Moore and former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.
Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Rooney will remain England captain, despite questions surrounding the 30-year-old's future at international level.
Nevertheless, Rooney has announced that he will retire from England duty after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
