Benin City, Nigeria - The Forefront understands that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resolved to hold Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State after due consultation with stakeholders.
It was learnt that the resolve to go ahead with the election was taken today after a meeting with stakeholders and consideration of the security report from the DSS and the Nigeria Police Force.
A statement confirming that the election will hold as scheduled will be issued later today by INEC.
