A tornado in Eastern China has killed 51 people, according to the country's state media.
The tornado formed near the city of Yancheng and destroyed large numbers of buildings, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday.
Extreme weather conditions including hailstorms have added to the chaos and carnage, injuring dozens more people in Jiangsu province.
Southern and eastern parts of the country have experienced weeks of torrential rain and storms that have caused widespread flooding and a number of casualties.
