NEWS: NIGERIA - Nigerian Army arrests 4 suspected Boko Haram Militants in Bauchi


The Nigeria Army in Bauchi State, yesterday said it arrested four suspected Boko Haram members, even as the state government alongside Bauchi Local Government Council, BLGC, donated 25 patrol vehicles, valued at N232, 968,750 to security operatives in state.

The Brigade Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Bauchi, Abraham Dusu, who disclosed the arrest while parading the suspects at the Shadawanka Barracks in Bauchi, said they were arrested following a tip-off by the residents in Alkaleri local government area of the state.
He gave the names of the four suspects as Victor Moses, Abubakar Shettima Bama, Salisu Mohammed Bello and Umar Sadiq Madaki.

According to him, one of the suspects, Victor Moses who claimed to have converted from Christianity to Islam was arrested in the mosque when he went to pray while the remaining three were arrested in Gombe and Plateau state respectively.

The Brigade Commander said the suspects were at present undergoing interrogation after which they would be handed to the Joint Task Force JTF in Maiduguri.

Meanwhile, Bauchi State government alongside Bauchi Local Government Council, BLGC, has donated 25 patrol vehicles, valued at N232, 968,750 to security operatives in state.

Governor Mohammed Abubakar, who handed over the vehicles to security operatives at the State Secretariat, said the primary responsibility of any government was to provide security to its citizens for everyone to go about his or her business without fear of insecurity.

According to him, the 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigeria Army would be given 10 vehicles, the Bauchi Police Command, nine, the Department of State Service, DSS, five while Zone 12 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police force would get one.
