Two 15-year-old girls have died in a shooting at an Arizona high school, police have said.
The girls, both students at Independence High School in Glendale, were shot once, a police spokeswoman said.
Glendale Officer Tracey Breeden said a weapon was found near the victims' body, and that authorities are not looking for any suspects.
Police did not comment on the relationship between the two girls.
First responders rushed to the school after receiving a call of a shooting just before 8am.
The school campus was put on lockdown and streets were closed to traffic in the surrounding residential area.
Glendale police later tweeted: "The incident was isolated. The school and neighborhood are safe."
Police asked parents to go to a nearby Walmart and await pick-up instructions.
The high school has about 2,000 students, according to the Glendale Union School District website.
