Jose Mourinho has told close friends that his move to Manchester United this summer is a ‘done deal’, according to The Daily Mail.
The report claims that the former Chelsea boss, who was sacked in December, has told ‘associates’ that he will be United’s new manager after the end of the season.
Louis van Gaal still has one year remaining on his current deal but the Dutchman has come under intense pressure from fans this season over the team’s uninspiring performances.
Van Gaal also failed to navigate United out of a relatively easy Champions League group this season, while they sit 12 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City with 13 games remaining.
