Sadly, Katsina State records first COVID- 19 death

Nigeria - The Katsina State Government has announced the death of the state’s first coronavirus case.






The governor, Aminu Masari, who announced this to newsmen, said the deceased, Dr. Aminu Yakubu, a Daura based private medical practitioner, recently returned from Lagos to the state and died three days after. His blood sample was taken to the NCDC office in Abuja for examination and it was confirmed he was positive for Coronavirus.

According to the Governor, the late Dr Yakubu who is a native of Kogi State, had been battling with Hypertitis and threats of hypertension. He said contact tracing for all those the late Yakubu might have come in contact with from Lagos to katsina between Tuesday and Wednesday morning has begun

''His samples were taken to NCDC for diagnosis where it was confirmed to be COVID-19 positive”.
” Our medical response team are in Daura right now for contact tracing of all that came into contact with him, we hope by this night and tomorrow morning to take complete samples of those he had contact with to the NCDC” the governor said.
