Nigeria - The Kano State Police Command yesterday paraded a 40-year-old man, Nuruddeen Abubakar, for raping and impregnating his 4-year-old daughter.
He also mandated her to abort the babies.
The police command also paraded a pastor, identified as Samuel John who raped 13-year-old twin sisters and their 11-year-old younger one.
Parading them alongside other suspects, the commissioner of police in the state, Rabiu Yusuf, decried the increase in the persistent cases of rape, incest and unnatural offences in the state.
He said from the 1st of August to date, 34 cases were recorded.
The CP said one Musbahu Ibrahim 25-year-old of Zangon Marikita Qtrs was arrested for severally raping his cousin sister.
Also, one Dahiru Haruna and Hamza Lawan all of Sheka Qtrs Kano conspired to commit and act in an unnatural manner against their 9-year old male victim.
From the 34 cases recorded, 35 suspects were arrested while 36 victims aged between 5-13yrs are involved.
Presently, about 15 pending cases of sexual assault will be transferred to SCIID for discreet investigation from various divisions.
