Zlatan Ibrahimovic could remain in Manchester United to serve as back up to Romelu Lukaku.
According to the Mirror UK, the arrival of the Belgium international could buy Jose Mourinho some time to wait out Ibrahimovic’s return.
The Swede suffered a season-ending cruciate-ligament injury in the Europa League.
According to the outlet, Ibrahimovic could be in line for another one-year deal that would see him return to action at the start of 2018.
Both Ibrahimovic and Lukaku are big physical strikers with proven track records as lethal finishers during their respective careers.
Ibrahimovic, who is progressing nicely in his rehab at Manchester United’s Carrington training facility, may still have a future at Old Trafford.
