Following Supreme Court judgement, PDP Senate caucus vows to remove APC in 2019

Nigeria - Following the Supreme Court Judgement in favour of Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the 30 member Senate PDP caucus have vowed to remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power in 2019 general elections.
Chairman of the caucus and Senate Minority leader at a press briefing in Abuja explained that the victory for Senator Makarfi faction was a victory for all PDP faithfuls particularly those who stayed behind in the course of seemingly intractable crises.

“This is PDP caucus of the 8th Senate. We are meeting out of excitement over the victory accorded us by the Supreme Court.”
“We said let Nigerians know the event that happened today and that the seemingly intractable crises has been resolved. We do know that about 99.9% PDP faithful are behind the Makarfi faction.”
Akpabio added that the crises was a family issue which often occurred in democratic setting, saying all those on the run should come back.
“What happened was a family issue and it is no victor, no vanquished. We are calling on all to come back for we are all one united family,” he said.
He said the coast has been cleared for the party to remove the All Progressives Congress out of power in 2019.
Corroborating, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and former Senate President, David Mark urged party faithful to be courageous in chasing the APC out of power.
“This is victory for our party, we must pursue, we must overtake. With this decision by the court now, change the change is imminent,” they maintained.
