For many people, a handcuffed proposal might not be ideal, especially without a beautiful ring to go with, but for Leandria Keith, it was perfect.
Nothing was going to stop Brandon Thompson from getting down on one knee and popping the question to his girlfriend.
The moment was captured on one of the Police officer’s body cameras, showing Thompson getting down on a knee to propose and afterward kissing his bride after she accepted.
The wanted Oklahoma man was celebrating the fourth of July with his family when police turned up at his home to arrest him for six felony counts including burglary and firearm possession, down to the police station.
According to Daily News, the groom asked the police officers if he could do something and after the officers gave him the permission to, he went on his knees to propose to his girlfriend.
The excited bride to be said she knew she was going to accept his proposal because their love was unconditional.
“I knew I was gonna say yes,” “Like, I love him a lot. We go through our ups and downs. I guess it’s like unconditional love, you know?”
“It feels “very amazing” to be engaged, she added.
The couple plans to get married once they have dealt with Thompson’s legal troubles.
Muskogee Police Department spokesman, Lincoln Anderson, has said they are hopeful that the 35-year-old would get his life together after his commitment to his wife to be and his future children.
“Maybe by him taking this step to propose to her, so they can get married, he can take a step to getting his life together and putting these warrants behind him and improving the life of his kids and his future wife,” Police spokesman said.
