A man slit his throat while waiting to be sentenced because he thought he was going to be locked up for grabbing hold of a shop worker and kissing her on the lips, a court has heard.
Lukasz Robert Pawlowski managed to get a 3in kitchen knife through security and hid it under a bin in the toilets at Haverfordwest Magistrates' Court in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
During proceedings he asked to be allowed to go to the toilet and returned to the dock with the weapon.

Prosecutor Robin Rouch said Pawlowski then began making "concerted efforts" to slash at his throat and began to bleed "profusely".
The 33-year-old was airlifted to hospital after the incident on 11 January and has been on remand since being discharged the following day.
Pawlowski, of Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, had pleaded guilty to sexual assault at a previous hearing.
Mr Rouch said the defendant approached the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in the shop she worked in on 30 October.
He pointed to his cheek as if asking for a kiss, before leaning over the counter and kissing her on the cheek.
Pawlowski proceeded to ask for her help and grabbed her, leaned her backwards and kissed her on the lips.
He was arrested after he was identified on CCTV.
Mr Rouch said the woman had been left feeling vulnerable and was considering quitting her job.
"It made her feel upset, someone thinking they had the right to touch her and kiss her," he said, reading out a statement from the victim.
"She still doesn't feel comfortable about what happened and she is still fearful of seeing the defendant."
The court heard Pawlowski, who also admitted an offence of possessing a bladed article, had served the equivalent of a four-month sentence.
Jon Tarrant, defending him, said Pawlowski "felt he was going into custody" and was remorseful about kissing the woman.
Sentencing, Judge Paul Thomas said both offences were serious and the knife incident involved a "significant" breach of court security.
He said: "I expect there will be an enquiry as to how you managed to get into the dock and other people will be in trouble for it.
"You caused a great deal of distress to the people who saw what you were doing. That must have been a very unpleasant experience for them."
Pawlowski was told he must sign the sex offenders' register for five years and was made the subject of a restraining order not to approach the woman.
He was also handed a community sentence and ordered to attend a sex offender treatment programme, carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and take part in a 10-day rehabilitation course.
