Nigerian and Cameroon soldiers carry out clearance operation in border areas



Nigerian and Cameroon soldiers carried out a clearance operation against Boko Haram terrorists along the two countries’ borders which lasted for two days.
Vanguard reports that the terrorists who fled from Sambisa forest were discovered to be hiding along the border areas.

The operation was led by Col Dourai and Lt Col Mohaman of the Cameroonian Defence Forces and had troops drawn from the Cameroon’s Battalion Rapid Intervention and 151 Task Force Battalion of 21 Brigade, Nigerian Army.
The troops cleared clared Siyara, Kote, Sigawa before moving to Bulabundibe, AdeleKe, Tchatike and Lamukura villages.
It was reported that the operation led to the death of many terrorists while two of them were apprehended.
Some of them terrorists reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.
Items recovered after the operation include an unserviceable Toyota Canter, five dane guns and five Boko Haram terrorists flags, four vehicle tyres, two motorcycles and vehicle spare parts.Col Dourai said the clearance operation was a success geared towards securing the border and applauded the Nigerian Army for their conduct.
