Top Boko Haram Commander and his lieutenant surrender to Nigerian troops in Borno



A top Commander of the Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād otherwise known as Boko Haram, Khaid Malam Ali and his lieutenant, Bunu Umar has surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East of Borno state.

Chief Of Defence Staff says 51,828 Boko haram fighters surrender in 18 months


The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor on Saturday, disclosed that no fewer than 51,828 Boko haram fighters and their family members surrendered to the Federal Government between July 2021 and May 2022.

According to a report, after Governor Babagana Zulum cast his vote at the Ajari Ward polling unit 001 in Mafa Local government of Borno State, over 60 terrorists suspected to be members of Islamic State of West Africa, ISWAP faction, attempted to infiltrate the army base serving as collation center for last weekend’s governorship and State Assembly elections, but met their waterloo.
