Bassey Etim, receives certificate of return from INEC as Senator elect (CERTIFICATE PHOTO)

Nigeria - Senator-in-waiting for Akwa Ibom North East, Mr. Bassey Etim, has received certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Mr Etim, a former member of the House of Representatives, is to replace Senator Bassey Albert Akpan in the Senate. He said the victory is not for him or PDP alone, but for Nigerian democracy.

As he awaits his swearing-in by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the sacked Bassey Albert Akpan has vowed to reclaim his mandate through an appeal filed at the Appeal Court.

The judge equally directed Bassey Albert to vacate his seat and ordered the National Assembly to swear in Bassey Etim from Uruan as the Senator for Uyo Senatorial district.
Recall that seven days ago, a Federal High Court sitting in Uyo nullified the election of Senator Bassey Albert as Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial district.
The court asked INEC to immediately issue certificate of return to Hon. Bassey Etim(Bafil).
