Nigeria - The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Adebiyi Daramola was today, February 14, arraigned at the Akure High Court by men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Trouble started when a fight erupted between the students of the university and the workers of the school who were in court to witness the arraignment.
According to Punch, the students were there to show their support for their VC while the workers who were members of Labour Union were there to witness the events.
Events took a drastic turn when immediately after the court proceeding, the students and lecturers started shouting at each other and it took the intervention of the policemen present in court to separate them.
Daramola, along with the bursar of the institution, Mr Emmanuel Oresegun, were arraigned at Akure High Court, by EFCC following allegations of fraudulent practices. But they were both granted bail.
