Fans launch social media campaign for Ronaldinho to join Chapecoense

Supporters have called for Ronaldinho to play for Chapecoense on social media as the club begins the rebuilding process after the tragic air crash in Colombia.

The tragedy killed 71 people and left six others injured after the plane carrying the Brazilian club to the Copa Sudamericana final crashed on Monday night.

Several Brazilian clubs have reportedly offered to loan Chapecoense players and fans have now taken to social media urging Ronaldinho to offer his services.

Supporters using the hashtag #ronaldinhonachape have flooded posts on Ronaldinho’s official Instagram page calling for the Brazilian legend to feature for the stricken side.

Ronaldinho has not played officially since leaving Fluminense in 2015 but has featured in friendlies all over the world.

Chapecoense are expected to begin planning for the future next week.
