A man arrested for defacing Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame said he did it because he was angry at the candidate.
James Otis, 52, was released from jail on Thursday on a $20,000 (£16,400) bail, after being arrested for felony vandalism.
Otis is accused of using a sledgehammer and a pickaxe to destroy the Republican candidate's Hollywood Walk of Fame star in LA.
Mr Trump received the star in 2007 for his NBC show The Apprentice.
"There are no consequences for him," Otis said to reporters shortly after his release.
"He thinks he's in charge all the time, he makes lies, he's a serial liar, a misogynist, and that's why we're here to try to address that and help those women who have told Mr Trump they won't stand for it any more."
Otis was captured on video in a hard hat and reflective vest as he hacked at the star before dawn.
Mr Trump's name was scratched out of the star, the emblem in the middle dislodged and chips missing.
Otis said his attack was a show of support for women who have accused Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct.
"I was arrested and here I am. I admitted my mistakes and I'm now dealing with my consequences. Unlike Mr Trump who has never admitted what he's done," he said.
"Nor has he admitted and gotten his consequences, and that's why I destroyed the star."
Several women have come forward accusing the Republican nominee of groping them in the past - allegations which Mr Trump has denied.
He drew widespread condemnation after a 2005 video emerged in which he was heard talking about groping women in a graphic manner.
The candidate later apologised and dismissed his comments as "locker room talk".
Donald Trump's star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame is in the process of being repaired, and should be ready next week.
James Otis, who has said he has been arrested multiple times for civil disobedience, is due in court on 18 November.
