The plane carrying Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence has slid off the runway at New York's LaGuardia airport.
Two tracks of damaged concrete could be seen on the runway after the incident - which happened during a rainstorm on Thursday night.
Mr Pence told reporters that no one had been injured.
"We can see mud on the front windows," he said in the press cabin about a minute after the plane came to rest.
He later Tweeted: "So thankful everyone on our plane is safe. Grateful for our first responders & the concern & prayers of so many. Back on the trail tomorrow!"
There were around 40 passengers and crew on the plane who were evacuated through the rear exit.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called his running mate after the incident.
"Mr Trump did reach out to Gov Pence. He's glad that everyone on board is safe," Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in an emailed statement.
