Refugee receives unexpected visit from 'Game Of Thrones' actor

A Game Of Thrones actor has paid a surprise visit to a teenage Syrian refugee after he fled the war-torn country and travelled to Germany.
Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth in the hit medieval fantasy series, made the trip specifically to surprise Hussam, who had left quite an impression on him during a previous meeting in Irbid, Jordan, last month.

"When I met him in Irbid, he spent every day with his mobile phone teaching himself German so he wouldn't be a burden on the German people when he got here," the actor said.
"This guy is 16-years-old and he's taught himself two languages since he's left his country."
Hussam fled to Jordan after his school in Syria was struck by missiles during his final exams, killing his friends and many students.

Charity World Vision was involved in setting up the meeting both in Jordan and Germany, to raise awareness for the plight of refugees.
According to the charity, Hussam had hoped to eventually reach Germany where his father and brother were already legally settled.
Now he is successfully in the country and Cunningham commended Germany for its "generosity" in welcoming refugees fleeing war in their home countries.
"This is the result of somebody in the government here and the large heart that the German people have of accepting people in trouble," Cunningham said.
