A man aged in his 30s has been shot dead in Dublin's north inner city.
The shooting happened at the Sunset House pub in Ballybough.
A car thought to have been used in the murder was later found burnt out in nearby Drumcondra.
Security sources say the victim was known to police and had links to dissident republicans.
He is understood to have appeared in court in recent years charged with IRA membership.
Initial reports suggest the killing is linked to a dispute among dissidents, rather than the ongoing gangland feud.
Associates of alleged crime lords Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch and Christy Kinahan have been engaged in a bitter turf war for months.
It began with the murder of Hutch's nephew Gary in Spain last year but escalated after a shooting at a weigh-in for a boxing match in February.
David Byrne, who had connections to the Kinahans, was shot dead when five men, some dressed as a police SWAT team, stormed a Dublin hotel.
The feud has since claimed another three lives. Hutch's brother Eddie was shot dead in February and his friend Noel Duggan in March.
Ten days ago, Martin O'Rouke, a 24-year-old homeless man, was shot dead in Dublin in a case of mistaken identity.
