Jose Mourinho wants Atletico Madrid's sporting director at Old Trafford should the Portuguese succeed Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, according to a report in the Telegraph.
Andrea Berta has been a pivotal figure in Atleti's rise under Diego Simeone and is understood to have a good relationship with Mourinho's agent Jorge Mendes.
Whether Mourinho will take over the Red Devils remains to be seen, however, with the United board still unsure as to whether they want to allow Van Gaal to see out the final year of his contract.
