Nigerian troops neutralise Boko Haram remnants in Sambisa Forest

Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole on Friday, neutralised remnants of the Boko Haram Terrorists in Sambisa forest and other parts of Northern Borno State.

Under the Operation Deep Punch (II), the troops with effective support from the Nigerian Air Force also destroyed equipment and make-shift accommodation around the Camp Zairo, Improvised Explosives Device (IEDs), booby traps and other devices.

Good news as Nigerian Army rescues 212 captives, capture one Boko Haram commander

Nigeria - The Army on Tuesday rescued another 212 persons held hostage by the terrorists after they cleared remnants of insurgents from some villages in the northern fringes of the Sambisa forest.

They also captured one Boko Haram commander, “Ameer” of Chawa, Amman Judee and neutralised four terrorists, according to a statement by Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations on Tuesday.

NAF destroys more structures belonging to Boko Haram in Sambisa area

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has destroyed more structures in Borno used by Boko Haram insurgents as meeting points.

This NAF announced this in a statement issued by Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Nigeria - The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group has sent a delegation to join the Federal Government’s team on a day search sorties for missing Chibok girls to Sambisa Forest.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the group reviewed the conditions it earlier gave to the government to travel with the team heading for the North East to witness first-hand the military’s ongoing search for the girls.
