NAF destroys more structures belonging to Boko Haram in Sambisa area

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has destroyed more structures in Borno used by Boko Haram insurgents as meeting points.

This NAF announced this in a statement issued by Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been accused of prolonging the fight against Boko Haram terrorists in Sambisa forest and other parts of Borno state through alleged incompetence and badly informed decisions made by top hierarchy of the Air Force.

Some Defence personnel and residents of Borno said that the Nigerian Air force has been unable to make meaningful contribution to the counter-terrorism war in spite of the huge funding and other resources made available to it to complement its effort in the North-East.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has neutralised hundreds of insurgents in Garin Maloma area in Sambisa Forest, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, has said.

Adesanya made the announcement in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday in Abuja.

The Nigerian Air Force has sentenced to death by hanging Airman Kalu Bernard, for killing his lover, Solape Oladipupo, aka Shomzy Shomzy, on March 12, 2017.

The judgment, which started 9am on Tuesday, dragged till 4pm when it was stood down before the panellists reconvened at 7.30pm.

NAF Chief Sadique Abubakar declares: We have dealt with Boko Haram substantially

Nigerian Air Force yesterday said despite pockets of attacks by insurgents, the military has substantially dealt with Boko Haram as they can no longer operate as a group.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, stated this when he declared open the 2017 African Partnership Flight in Lagos and noted that the defeat of the insurgents was  obvious.
