Arab states send Qatar 13 demands to end crisis, official says

Four Arab states boycotting Qatar over alleged support for terrorism have sent Doha a list of 13 demands including closing Al Jazeera television and reducing ties to Iran, an official of one of the four countries said.

Qatar says ready for mediation to ease Gulf rift

Qatar’s foreign minister Tamim Al-Thani said on Tuesday Doha was ready for mediation efforts after the Arab world’s biggest powers severed ties with it.

Al-Thani said that Qatar’s ruler had delayed a speech in order to give Kuwait a chance to ease regional tensions.

'Terrorists' escape as armed men storm prison in Bahrain

Armed men have stormed a prison in Bahrain, killing a police officers and freeing 10 inmates convicted of terrorism charges, the interior minister said.

The prison break set off a manhunt for the attackers and the escaped convicts across the tiny island nation in the Gulf.
