Some relief as Lagos discharges 31 #COVID19 patients


Nigeria - Thirty-one more COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Lagos after testing negative for the coronavirus.


The state ministry of health made the announcement via a series of tweets on Sunday.
The patients, 12 females and 19 males, were discharged from the state’s isolation centres.
Giving a breakdown of the recoveries, the ministry said 13 persons were discharged from Onikan, 11 from Gbagada, five from Agidingbi, one from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, and one from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) isolation centres.
With the latest announcement, a total of 738 COVID-19 recoveries have now been recorded, and Lagos has the highest figure of recoveries in the country.
Lagos currently has the highest figure of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria with 3,357 out of Nigeria’s total of 7,526 cases in 34 states and the federal capital territory (FCT) as of May 23, 2020.
The state also has the highest number of fatalities, with 46 out of Nigeria’s total of 221 deaths recorded.
