#RevolutionNow: What court did to grant Sowore bail

Nigeria - The convener of #RevolutionNow protest has been granted bail of N100m with two sureties in like sum, after being arraigned before Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Some other bail conditions given to the former Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) who is facing trial on charges of treason and insulting President Buhari, include not addressing any rally pending the conclusion of his trial and not travelling out of Abuja.

Justice Ojukwu demanded a deposit of N50m in the account of the court as security, and also added that the media personality's sureties must residents in Abuja and must also have landed assets worth the bail sum in Abuja.

They are to deposit the original title documents of the assets with the court.

Sowore's co-defendant Olawale Bakare who was also granted bail of N50m with one surety in like sum, was barred from travelling out of Osogbo, Osun State's capital.

The duo are to be remanded in DSS custody pending when they meet their bail conditions.
