The President is scheduled to address the world body on Tuesday, 19 September, after the opening speech by UN Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres and the first UN address by US President, Donald Trump at the sidelines of a dinner to be held on Monday 20 September, according to the draft of the program seen.
A source at the Nigeria House in New York told Sahara Reporters that Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, and members of a presidential advance team are already in New York to put finishing touches to the arrangements being made by the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations.
The meeting with Mr. Trump was initially scheduled to hold two weeks ago but had to be shifted because President Buhari, who is still convalescing, could not travel at the time.
During his five-day stay in New York, President Buhari and the Nigerian delegation will be accommodated at One Millennium Plaza Hotel on First Avenue in Manhattan.
Presidency source also disclosed to Sahara Reporters that the list of members of the delegation is expected to be approved today by the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari, before the publication of the program by the State House press.
